Jiayan Zhao

Jiayan is the Manager of Financial Analysis and Venture Funds, reporting to the CFO & VP of Business Affairs. She evaluates investment opportunities for the President's Venture Fund (PVF), provides stewardship for existing investments in PVF and the Stanford-StartX Fund and undertakes special projects for senior leadership across the University.

Jiayan joined Stanford in year 2006 as a Business Analyst in the School of Medicine.  Subsequently, she worked in the School of Humanities & Sciences Dean’s Office, progressing from a Senior Financial Analyst to the Associate Director of Finance.  Within H&S, Jiayan managed the Finance Liaison team and the Infrastructure & Analysis team. She was the school’s Budget Officer and was a key contributor on many strategic projects.

Jiayan holds a Master degree in Financial Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a Master Degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Manchester in the UK. Jiayan grew up in China and graduated from East China University of Science and Technology with a BA in Finance.
