Anne Sweeney-Hoy

Anne Sweeney-Hoy is Senior Associate Vice President of Finance, reporting to the Vice President for Business Affairs and Chief Financial Officer.  Anne leads Financial Management Services (FMS), an organization with over 200 staff members and an annual budget of ~$40 million. FMS includes the Controller’s Office, the Treasurer’s Office, Procurement Services, Global Business Services, Financial Systems & Reporting and Strategic Initiatives, Services & Support.

Anne has an outstanding track record of leadership and change management in her 19 years at Stanford. She vastly improved financial reporting, helped stabilize the Oracle Financials system and has partnered effectively with members of the university community. She was an early participant in Business Affairs’ talent development program and was instrumental in creating the Financial Management Academy.

Anne joined Stanford in 2004 as an Oracle systems specialist. She was subsequently promoted to director of financial information and reporting systems and senior director of business architecture, support and enablement within FMS. In early 2018, she joined the Office of the Chief Risk Officer as chief ethics and compliance officer, where she led efforts to enhance awareness of the university’s Code of Conduct and chaired the Ethics, Compliance and ERM Steering Committee. Before joining Stanford, Sweeney-Hoy worked with Booz, Allen & Hamilton and Bearing Point as a financial systems consultant.

Anne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from George Mason University.
